Fantastico Arni: complete guide
Overview
Fantastico Arni is an Apuan marble with a white background, crossed by broad veins in shades of grey and ochre. The name describes its character well: a lively, striking pattern, suited to statement surfaces.
History and origin
It comes from the Arni area, in the municipality of Stazzema, in the Apuan Alps near Lucca, an area where several veined marbles are quarried. The warm hues of its veins set it apart from the greyer arabescato marbles. It is used above all for bathrooms, cladding, worktops and prestigious furnishings. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The white background is crossed by grey veins of varying thickness, accompanied by ochre, beige and sometimes golden hues. The pattern varies greatly from slab to slab and lends itself to book-matched installation. Polishing brings out the warm tones; honing makes them softer and more natural.
Uses
Ideal for walls, bathrooms, worktops, islands, tables and stair cladding indoors. Not recommended outdoors; in the kitchen it should be used with the usual care required by marble.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral products and soft cloths. Apply an oil-repellent impregnating sealer to tops and remove acidic or coloured liquids immediately, as they could stain or dull the surface.
