Blanco Castilla is a robust Spanish granite characterized by a balanced palette of grey and white tones. Its medium-grained, hypidiomorphic texture provides a uniform, compact surface that resists weathering and wear, making it ideal for demanding architectural applications. This stone is particularly suited for exterior cladding, paving, and high-traffic interior floors where durability is paramount. It accepts various finishes, including polished for a refined sheen or flamed for enhanced slip resistance. Marmi di Carrara supplies Blanco Castilla in blocks, standard slabs of 2 or 3 cm, and custom cut-to-size pieces. We ensure transparency by providing photographs of actual slabs before purchase, allowing you to verify the specific tonal variations of this Spanish granite.

Blanco Castilla Granite: complete guide
Overview
Blanco Castilla is a light Spanish granite, white-grey with small dark specks. It offers the brightness of a light-coloured material with the strength of granite.
History and origin
It is one of the white and light grey granites produced in Spain, a country with a well-established stone industry. This type of granite has long been used for paving, kerbs, steps and cladding. The name recalls Castile, a historic region in central Spain. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is white tending towards grey, with translucent quartz crystals and black mica specks spread fairly evenly. Slight differences in the density of the speckling may appear between slabs. Polishing gives a clean, brilliant look; bush-hammering gives a matt white that is very well suited to outdoor use.
Uses
It is used for floors, stairs, thresholds, window sills, kitchen worktops and outdoor paving. Outdoors it is valued because it stays light and does not overheat like dark stones. For heavily used kitchen worktops it should be protected, since stains stand out against the light background.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral detergents, avoiding neat bleach and coloured products that could leave marks. A water- and oil-repellent is recommended on worktops and outdoor floors. Rust stains should be treated with products specifically designed for granite.
