Like every limestone, it is supplied as raw blocks, gangsaw slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces made in our Carrara plants. Recommended finishes: honed, brushed, sandblasted, bush-hammered, split-face. Typical applications: interior and exterior floors, façades, pool surrounds, garden design, carved elements.
Availability varies with the quarry campaigns: before quoting we check current stock, block sizes and the selection grade, and we send photos of the actual slabs. Price and transport are confirmed by our technical office within one working day.
Bege Bahia: complete guide
Overview
Bege Bahia is a light beige Brazilian limestone sold as marble. It is chosen for its warm, neutral tone and its natural, slightly mottled appearance.
History and origin
It comes from the state of Bahia in Brazil and has been widespread on the international market for years as a versatile beige. Geologically it is a limestone, often with small natural cavities. For this reason the slabs are normally filled or resin-treated during processing. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is light beige, with patches, clouding and small darker or lighter inclusions. It has no true veins but a diffuse pattern that varies from slab to slab. Polishing makes the colour warmer; honing or brushing makes it look more rustic.
Uses
Suitable for residential floors, wall cladding, bathrooms and interior window sills. Not recommended for kitchen worktops, exteriors exposed to frost or high-traffic spaces. In bathrooms it must be well protected to avoid water marks.
Care and maintenance
Treat with a water- and oil-repellent protector after installation. Clean with neutral detergents, avoiding acidic or strongly alkaline products. Renew the protector regularly, especially on floors.
