Petrographic description
This marble features a calcite-bearing carbonate matrix containing macro and micro broken fossil fragments, with minor dolomite and microquartz. Filling minerals include calcite and limonite within secondary fractures.
Taurus Black Marble is a Marble quarried in Turkey, catalogued in the Marmi di Carrara atlas under the international reference ICTRMA00121. Its dominant tone is black, with a fossiliferous texture.
Like every marble, it is supplied as raw blocks, gangsaw slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces made in our Carrara plants. Recommended finishes: polished, honed, brushed, sandblasted, bush-hammered (exterior).
