Norwegian Rose: complete guide
Overview
Norwegian Rose is a pink Norwegian marble with green and grey veins. Its lively pattern makes it suitable for decorative surfaces and interiors with character.
History and origin
It is a marble of Norwegian origin, quarried in the north of the country, known for its unusual combination of pink and green tones. It is available on the international market in relatively limited quantities, mainly for cladding and furnishings. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is pink, from pale to intense pink, alternating with white areas and crossed by green and grey veins and bands. The pattern is highly variable and each slab differs from the next. Polished, it enhances the contrast between pink and green; honed, it softens it.
Uses
Recommended for walls, bathroom tops, washbasins, fireplaces, furniture tops and interior floors. It is at its best in book-matched compositions. Avoid it outdoors and on heavily used kitchen worktops.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral products and soft cloths. Avoid limescale removers, vinegar and aggressive detergents. A stain-repellent impregnating sealer protects the light areas.
