Fior di Pesco Carnico marble: guide
Overview
Fior di Pesco Carnico is a marble from Friuli in violet-grey and pink tones with white veins. Its poetic name recalls the colours of peach blossom.
History and origin
It is quarried in the Carnic Alps, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the same area as Grigio Carnico. It is a traditional marble used in floors, altars and cladding. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
A grey background with violet and pink shades, crossed by white veins and sometimes brecciated areas. The effect is delicate and refined.
Uses
Floors, bathroom cladding, tops, fireplaces, thresholds and furniture. It suits patterned floors with grey and white marbles.
Care and maintenance
Clean with water and pH-neutral detergents, drying with a soft cloth; avoid acids, bleach and abrasive products. A water- and oil-repellent treatment after installation reduces staining and should be renewed periodically in busy areas. Professional honing and polishing remove scratches and dullness.
