Verde Pantanal Granite: complete guide
Overview
Verde Pantanal is a dark green Brazilian granite. It is chosen for a natural, deep tone as an alternative to the classic blacks and greys.
History and origin
The name recalls the Pantanal, a vast wetland in Brazil, and is a trade name. It belongs to the group of Brazilian green granites, widely used for kitchen worktops and cladding. It is sold mainly in polished slabs. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background is dark green, almost black in some areas, with lighter green, black and brown crystals. The grain is medium-coarse and the pattern fairly uniform, with possible differences in shade between blocks. Polished, the green stands out clearly, while honed it tends towards a darker grey-green.
Uses
It is very well suited to kitchen worktops, bar tops, bathrooms, floors and cladding. Outdoors it is used for thresholds, steps and façades. For outdoor floors avoid polished finishes, which are slippery when wet.
Care and maintenance
Clean with a neutral detergent and dry to avoid marks. The material absorbs little, so protective treatment is optional. Avoid abrasive products or strong acids that can dull the polish.
