Kaman Granite is a grey natural stone quarried in Turkey, formed from Cenozoic plutonic masses with granodiorite to quartz monzonite composition. Its uniform grey background, medium grain and subtle tonal shading give facades, flooring, stairs and worktops a sober, technical character suited to both contemporary and traditional architecture. As a durable granite, it withstands heavy traffic and outdoor exposure, making it suitable for paving, cladding and urban furnishings. Polished, honed, flamed or bush-hammered finishes each highlight different qualities of its surface. Marmi di Carrara supplies Kaman Granite as blocks, slabs 2 and 3 cm thick and cut-to-size pieces, with photos of the actual slabs provided before purchase.
Petrographic description
Kaman Granite is of Cenozoic age and derives from a widespread pluton exhibiting locally granite and mainly granodiorite and quartz monzonite compositions related to magmatic differentiation. The rock consists largely of subhedral crystals of orthoclase, zoned oligoclase, andesine and quartz, and can be classified as granodiorite and quartz monzonite.
