Cinza Prata is a Granite quarried in Brazil, catalogued in the Marmi di Carrara atlas under the international reference ICBRGR00354. Its dominant tone is grey, with medium grain.
Like every granite, it is supplied as raw blocks, gangsaw slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces made in our Carrara plants. Recommended finishes: polished, honed, flamed, bush-hammered, leathered. Typical applications: kitchen worktops, exterior cladding and paving, stairs, monuments, high-traffic floors.
Availability varies with the quarry campaigns: before quoting we check current stock, block sizes and the selection grade, and we send photos of the actual slabs. Price and transport are confirmed by our technical office within one working day.
Cinza Prata Granite: complete guide
Overview
Cinza Prata is a Brazilian granite in a bright, discreet silver-grey shade. It is chosen for modern settings where a light-coloured but resistant stone is wanted.
History and origin
The Portuguese name literally means "silver grey" and describes its appearance well. It belongs to the vast family of grey granites exported from Brazil for building and furnishing. It is used in slabs and tiles for floors, cladding and worktops. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The light grey background has silvery reflections from the feldspar and quartz crystals, with scattered dark minerals. The pattern is regular, suited to large surfaces where continuity is desired, although the shade may change slightly between lots. Polishing gives metallic reflections, while flaming lightens it considerably.
Uses
It is suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, residential and commercial floors, stairs and façades. Outdoors it works well for paving and cladding with rough finishes. Those looking for a veined marble effect should consider other materials, as the pattern is speckled.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral detergents and dry wet areas to avoid limescale residue. On kitchen worktops a stain-proofing protector renewed from time to time makes cleaning easier. Do not use metal scourers on polished surfaces.
