Petrographic description
Balikesir Onyx Marble occurs along a fault zone in Mesozoic recrystallized limestone, featuring yellow, light brown, and pink hues. It exhibits primary aragonite micro-crystals ranging from 0.04 to 7 mm with an acicular texture resulting from recrystallization.
Balikesir Onyx Marble is a Marble quarried in Turkey, catalogued in the Marmi di Carrara atlas under the international reference ICTRMA00109. Its dominant tone is yellow & gold, with a crystalline texture.
Like every marble, it is supplied as raw blocks, gangsaw slabs in 2 and 3 cm and cut-to-size pieces made in our Carrara plants. Recommended finishes: polished, honed, brushed, sandblasted, bush-hammered (exterior). Typical applications: interior floors and walls, bathrooms, vanity tops, stairs, fireplaces, furniture and sculpture.
