Azul Cielo: complete guide
Overview
Azul Cielo is an Argentinian marble with a light blue background and white veins. It is chosen for its rare colour, which can give a room a fresh, original tone.
History and origin
It comes from Argentina and is one of the few blue marbles available on the market. The quantities quarried are small and good-quality slabs are sought after. For this reason it is used mainly in high-end residential and furnishing projects. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Appearance
The background ranges from sky blue to greyish light blue, with white veins and clouding. The intensity of the colour and the amount of veining vary considerably between slabs. Polishing brightens the blue; matt finishes tend to lighten it.
Uses
Recommended for bathrooms, accent walls, vanity tops, furniture tops and prestigious low-traffic floors. Not well suited to kitchen worktops or high-traffic areas. Avoid it outdoors.
Care and maintenance
Clean with pH-neutral products and water. Apply a stain-repellent protector and renew it regularly. Avoid abrasive products, which dull the polish and deaden the colour.
